About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system architecture design, Active Directory implementation, and Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Meet with colleagues, development teams, and business departments to analyze and workshop requirements
Take ownership of system infrastructure and help maintain reliability and uptime of core services
Research and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices based on business and IT requirements
Operate and administer Windows servers and management tools
Provide expert technical guidance and input
Create and maintain technical documentation as needed

Requirements

7 years of relevant work experience in system engineering or a related field
Advanced knowledge of Active Directory implementation, maintenance, and support
Expertise in advanced MS Exchange implementation, including Exchange Hybrid Solutions
Experience with security certificate management and deployments, including Wildcard certificates and Secure FTP (Cerberus)
Strong understanding of Microsoft Licensing Knowledge, Internet Information Server (IIS), Load Balancer Knowledge (Kemp), and Microsoft Windows Server Operating systems
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Failover clustering and High Availability technology
Understanding and application of API/Integration key concepts
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages, including Powershell and C#
Experience with virtualisation technologies, including VMWare and HyperV
Familiarity with MailMarshal and Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS)
Knowledge of Azure DevOps

Qualifications

Formal education in Computer Science or a related field is an advantage
