About the Role
As a Lodge Manager at Craven Cottage CC, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our Waterberg lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high operational standards. You will lead the HOD team in all aspects of their duties, interact with guests professionally, and report to the General Manager on a regular basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the HOD team for the lodge in all operational, health and safety, and staff welfare functions.
- Ensuring that guest expectations are met and the guest experience is of excellent quality.
- Maintaining all operational standards across the board.
- Keeping the lodge maintained as per the standards.
- Assigning the HOD team to daily tasks, organising workflow, ensuring the team understands their duties and the expected standards.
- Monitoring the HOD team’s productivity and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensuring that financial operations are optimal and expenses are controlled, with costs saved where possible.
- Interacting with guests in a professional manner, representing the lodge as a whole, and resolving guest complaints speedily and professionally.
- Creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all staff members.
- Sharing information with management teams to avoid miscommunication and ensure smooth operations.
- Building and maintaining relationships within the community, with suppliers, and contractors.
- Upholding and communicating the vision, mission, and business ethics of the management company.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- A formal hospitality qualification
- At least 2 – 4 years’ experience in a 5* Game Lodge / Boutique Hotel in a Management role
- Good operational knowledge of all departments
