Delmas: Feedlot Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Feedlot Manager to take full responsibility for the performance, health, and operational efficiency of the feedlot. This role requires a strong leader with veterinary expertise who can oversee all aspects of feedlot operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead herd health management, diagnose and treat conditions, implement preventative programs, and ensure high welfare standards.
• Manage daily operations including feeding, cattle movement, infrastructure, feed quality, and resource allocation.
• Conduct herd health assessments, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with external veterinarians.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, biosecurity, and staff/livestock safety.
• Lead, train, and develop the feedlot team, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational efficiency; drive profitability and cost-saving initiatives.
• Maintain operational records, prepare performance reports, and liaise with suppliers, management, and industry stakeholders.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of cattle health, nutrition, and feedlot systems

Qualifications

• Veterinary Degree: BVSc, DVM, or equivalent (strongly preferred)
