About the Role
The Feedlot Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the feedlot department, ensuring the health and well-being of animals, and developing production plans that meet the requirements of various units and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the health of animals
- Develop production plans according to the requirements of the various units and Sales
- Establish plans and requirements for inputs, raw materials, and technical items
- Follow up on processes within various stages of production
- Ensure efficiency to maximize production capacity
- Continuous monitoring of production from start to finish, ensuring compliance with quantity and quality requirements
- Generation of reports including slaughter, daily production, and other relevant periodic summaries
- Compliance with all safety regulations, including equipment, processes, production, and microbial contamination
- Stock take, including variances and control
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years Management experience as a Manager in an Abattoir/Feedlot environment
- BsC Agriculture
- Expert knowledge of various beef cuts
- Standards
- HACCP procedures
- ISO procedures
- Good administration and reporting skills
- Fully computer literate on MS Office
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
