About the Role
The Assistant Warehouse Manager role at Staff Focus is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our warehouse, while also contributing to the overall success of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing daily warehouse activities
- Manage inbound receiving, storage, and outbound dispatch
- Oversee workflow processes including bin management, unit picking, and processing
- Supervise, train, and mentor warehouse staff
- Allocate tasks effectively and monitor performance
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and company policies
- Maintain high levels of stock accuracy
- Conduct cycle counts and physical stock audits
- Reconcile inventory within the WMS system
- Enforce Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards
- Ensure all warehouse equipment is properly maintained
- Promote a safe and compliant working environment
- Identify inefficiencies and operational bottlenecks
- Implement process improvements and standardisation initiatives
- Generate reports on warehouse performance and productivity
- Track stock discrepancies and operational metrics
- Provide feedback and insights to management
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations (preferred)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a warehouse or logistics leadership role
- Experience in distribution or FMCG environments advantageous
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems (Syspro or similar)
- Valid forklift license (advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
