Job Description
Hire Resolves client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Section Manager Engineering to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and a proven track record of effectively managing a team of engineers. As a Section Manager Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering department, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, and providing technical guidance and support to your team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and support as needed
- Oversee the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of the engineering team, providing feedback and coaching as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that engineering projects are aligned with company goals and objectivesDevelop and implement strategies to improve engineering processes and procedures
- Stay current on industry trends and developments, and provide recommendations for new technologies or methodologies that could benefit the team
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and senior management
Requirements:
- Relevant engineering degree such as BSc Engineering, BEng, BTech Control and Instrumentation/Electronics, etc.
- Proven track record of extensive practical experience in Instrumentation/Automation management at middle management level
- Experience in Advanced Process Control (APC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA)
- Experience in managing third party contractors and suppliers
- Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk–based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicants suitability for employment
