Job Description
This role may form part of a broader transformation, programme delivery, or PMO capability, with a strong emphasis on delivery assurance, stakeholder engagement, and measurable outcomes.
Focus on driving structured execution, strengthening governance, and ensuring alignment between business objectives, technology delivery, and operational outcomes.
The PM will operate across multiple stakeholders, including business leadership, IT teams, and third-party vendors, within a complex and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Delivery
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, and success criteria
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across business, IT, and vendor teams
- Ensure delivery is aligned to agreed methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Track progress and proactively manage dependencies
Governance and Stakeholder Management
- Establish and manage governance structures (SteerCo, working groups, delivery forums)
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement across business and technology teams
- Define roles, responsibilities, and escalation pathways
- Prepare and deliver executive-level reporting and communication packs
Risk, Issue and Change Management
- Maintain risk, issue, and dependency registers
- Proactively identify and mitigate delivery risks
- Manage scope changes through structured change control processes
- Escalate critical risks and blockers to appropriate governance forums
Financial and Resource Oversight
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and actual spend
- Track resource allocation and utilisation
- Support cost optimisation and vendor oversight
- Ensure alignment with financial governance requirements
Reporting and Delivery Assurance
- Produce regular status reports and dashboards
- Track performance against key delivery metrics (timeline, budget, quality)
- Conduct project health checks and delivery assessments
- Provide insights and recommendations to support decision-making
Testing, Validation and Quality Management
- Support planning and coordination of testing activities
- Ensure validation of key deliverables and success criteria
- Track defect resolution and quality outcomes
- Ensure delivery meets agreed standards and acceptance criteria
Documentation and Knowledge Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
- Ensure audit-ready artefacts and governance records
- Support knowledge transfer and capability uplift within client teams
Qualifications
- Matric and Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience in Project Management within large, complex environments
- Demonstrated experience delivering technology, digital, or transformation initiatives
- Strong exposure to governance frameworks, PMO structures, and delivery methodologies.
- FMCG experience
- Exposure to PMO-as-a-Service (PMOaaS) or enterprise PMO environments
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile (Scrum Master / SAFe)
