About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Consultant to join our team in Midrand, South Africa. As a key member of our compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in the development and implementation of compliance programs
- Conducting internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed
- Identifying compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation
- Maintaining documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes
- Conducting periodic internal reviews to ensure that compliance procedures are followed
- Providing assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews
- Preparing reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
- Keeping informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assessing the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes
- Developing, initiating, maintaining, and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct
- Risk assessment updates
- Assisting in collating information for internal audits
- Conducting vendor audits
- Preparing and submission of statutory declarations and returns
Requirements
- BSc/BA law, finance, business administration or related field or any compliance/audit related degree
- Solid experience in compliance, security, and auditing within the ICT or Information Technology sector
- Strong knowledge of audit requirements, regulatory submissions, reporting procedures, and risk management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Experience with Sage X3 will be advantageous
- Familiarity with ICT sector practices and regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
