About the Role

Dormen Engineering Projects & Employment Services is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Technician/Millwright to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert maintenance and repair services to our clients, ensuring minimal downtime of equipment and maximizing system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Do fault finding on hydraulic systems
  • Repair hydraulic systems
  • Service hydraulic systems back to standard
  • Improve hydraulic systems performance
  • Provide improvement suggestions to customers
  • Minimise downtime of equipment
  • Check all interlocks in a hydraulic system
  • Testing of all electrical valves and controls
  • Charging of all accumulators
  • Setting up pumps as per circuit
  • Checking of pressure switches and relieve valves
  • Commissioning of newly installed systems
  • Service customers’ equipment on a monthly basis
  • Extend equipment life span
  • Limit downtime on equipment
  • Maintain customers’ production times
  • Assist with critical spares
  • Provide feedback on condition of equipment
  • Suggest equipment replacement components
  • Do job scopes for future repairs
  • Take oil samples
  • Repair all oil leaks and replace all O-rings
  • Install small bore pipe installations up to 38 mm
  • Installation of flexible hoses
  • Install pipe routing and pipe bracketing
  • Flushing system after installation
  • Pressure testing of system
  • Commission system
  • Complete commissioning procedure
  • Repairs, testing and setting up of hydraulic pumps and motors (Open and closed loop)
  • Repairs/refurbishment of hydraulic powerpacks, manifolds, cylinders and accumulators

Requirements

  • Matric/N4 or higher
  • Qualified Fitter/Millwright with at least 10 years experience in the hydraulic field
  • Experience in mobile hydraulic equipment is advantageous

Qualifications

  • Fully trained in the uses of all components and their applications
  • Proficient on MS office
