About the Role
The Inventory Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory transactions in Syspro ERP, ensuring compliance with inventory control procedures and system discipline across warehouses and production. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to provide accurate information to Operations and Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and maintain accurate inventory transactions in Syspro ERP, including receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, and returns.
- Ensure all stock movements are recorded correctly and on time.
- Enforce inventory control procedures and system discipline across warehouses and production.
- Perform regular cycle counts and full stock takes.
- Reconcile physical stock against Syspro system balances.
- Investigate stock differences and take corrective action.
- Identify root causes of variances and assist with preventative measures
- Prepare inventory reports such as stock levels, movements, ageing, and variances.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete stock and recommend actions.
- Provide accurate inventory information to Operations and Management.
- Support production and operations with accurate stock availability information.
- Assist with reorder point reviews and stock level optimisation.
- Work closely with Procurement, Warehousing, Production, and Finance teams.
- Act as the Syspro inventory module super-user.
- Provide system support and basic training to users.
- Maintain data accuracy and system controls.
Requirements
- Tertiary Qualification in Informatics/Computer science.
- Syspro qualification.
- 2 years experience in inventory control/stock management.
- Experience in warehouse and/or production environments.
- Exposure to inventory audits and year-end stock counts.
- Understanding of the financial impact of inventory.
