About the Role
The Procurement Officer role at H&S Labour Brokers cc is a 12-month fixed-term position that requires an experienced professional to deliver a strategic, efficient procurement service that maximises value for money. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring organisation-wide compliance with procurement policies and procedures, as well as developing and executing effective sourcing strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor procurement systems and processes, ensuring organisation-wide compliance
- Manage specific procurement projects with ongoing oversight
- Train staff on procurement systems and processes at an appropriate level
- Deliver a strategic, efficient procurement service that maximises value for money
- Maintain accurate supplier records including qualifications, B-BBEE ratings and delivery lead times
- Advise and support employees on procurement and supplier relationship best practice
- Assess total costs of organisational purchases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Economics or a related field
- Sound knowledge of procurement systems and procedures
- Knowledge of vendor sourcing practices including researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors
- Understanding of sourcing and procurement techniques and market awareness
- Familiarity with supplier or third-party management software
