About the Role
The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the manufacturing business for a fixed-term period of 12 months, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong cost control, compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational efficiency and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with applicable accounting standards
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes
- Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital requirements
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles
- Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations to improve financial outcomes
- Partner with operational teams to align financial plans with production goals
- Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis
- Analyze production costs, labor, and overheads to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities
- Support inventory management, stock counts, and variance investigations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom) or equivalent in Finance/Accounting
- Minimum of 5–7 years’ relevant experience, preferably within the manufacturing sector
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and financial management principles
