About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Field Guide / Anchor Couple to join a prestigious Luxury Game Reserve in the Free State. This unique opportunity is ideal for guides who are at the top of their game, with extensive experience on Big Five reserves, and a genuine passion for wildlife, conservation, and personalised guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct personalised game drives with a maximum of six guests per vehicle
  • Share in-depth wildlife knowledge and conservation insights with guests
  • Assist guests with photography during drives (camera settings, angles, lighting)
  • Support creation of photographic and video content for social media (optional)
  • Ensure the safety of guests and animals during all activities
  • Maintain and care for safari vehicles and equipment
  • Collaborate with lodge staff to provide exceptional guest service
  • Uphold the reserve’s standards of professionalism, safety, and sustainability

Requirements

  • CATHSSETA NQF2, FGASA, or equivalent qualification
  • Registered with the National Department of Tourism
  • Valid PDP licence
  • Valid First Aid certification
  • Extensive guiding experience, preferably on Big Five reserves
  • Strong energy, enthusiasm, and passion for wildlife and conservation
  • Photography skills and guest engagement on a photographic level advantageous (optional)
  • Optional photo/video editing skills for content creation

Salary & Benefits

Package Salary: R15,000 – R25,000 DOE (combined, live-in)
