About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering mechanical components and equipment for various projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design engineering: Produce 3D models, detailed drawings and bills of materials
Develop mechanical components, assemblies and complete equipment
Conduct engineering calculations and ensure structural and mechanical integrity
Support fabrication teams by resolving design queries and checking manufacturability
Participate in design reviews, QA checks and client inspections
Project Engineering: Coordinate engineering activities from design through fabrication and delivery
Manage project timelines, documentation and supplier interactions
Support site measurements, installations, testing and commissioning
Liaise with mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams
Assist with technical reports, progress updates and client communication

Requirements

BEng Mechanical or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
Experience in heavy machinery, mining equipment, fabrication or industrial plant engineering
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
Understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly processes
Strong problem solving and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
