Alberton: General Litigation Attorney

About the Role

We are seeking a well-rounded General Litigation Attorney to join our legal team in Alberton. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years’ post-admission experience, with a proven track record in general litigation and family law.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute matters related to general litigation, including but not limited to civil disputes, contractual matters, personal injury, and property disputes
• Handle family law cases including divorce, maintenance, custody, and related proceedings
• Draft legal documents, pleadings, contracts, and affidavits
• Represent clients in court, prepare for hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients in relation to litigation and family law
• Communicate and negotiate with clients, counsel, and opposing parties
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and legal developments

Requirements

• LLB degree
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
• Minimum of 3–5 years post-admission experience in general litigation and family law
• Solid courtroom and negotiation skills
• Strong drafting and legal research abilities
• Able to manage own caseload independently and efficiently

Qualifications

• LLB degree (Bachelor of Laws)
• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (Admitted)
