Job Description
- Plan and execute service schedules and Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI)
- Rebuild diesel engines with expertise in Isuzu and Cummins engines
- Perform fault finding and diagnostics on earth moving machinery
- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems on earth moving equipment
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and software for troubleshooting
- Uphold ISO standards in all workshop operations
- Liaise with customers regarding warranty work and technical issues
- Access and process warranty claims and documentation
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers
- Manage and supervise workshop staff
- Plan and coordinate parts ordering and engineering work
- Train and mentor apprentices in diesel mechanics and earth moving equipment
- Handle general administrative duties for staff and workshop operations
- Oversee receiving and assembling of new machines from containerized or fully built form
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years experience as a diesel mechanic specializing in earth moving equipment
- Proven competency in Isuzu and Cummins engines (essential)
- Experience with Kubota, Yanmar, and Mitsubishi engines would be advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in workshop management and staff supervision
- Experience in training and mentoring apprentices
- Sound knowledge of earth moving hydraulic systems
- Competent in the use of diagnostic equipment and software
- Engine rebuilding expertise with focus on diesel engines
- Proficiency in fault finding and troubleshooting complex machinery
- Understanding of warranty procedures and customer liaison
- Parts planning and engineering work coordination
- Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (essential)
- Ability to handle administrative duties and documentation
- Valid drivers license
- Must be able to travel
- Must have a valid passport
