Leading Inbound Destination Management Company based in Bryanston is currently looking for an experienced Business Development Consultant. We’re looking for a candidate with a good understanding of the specific markets and client’s expectations to achieve a successful conversion of business and to successfully execute the conception, pricing, promotion and distribution of client proposals. Costing of itineraries and experience in operations will be an advantage. Duties: Project Research: Research and analysis on various markets is a large element of this role. Increase conversion rate for quotes and meet targets Offering of competitive rates and relevance to market Adhere to turnaround time Presentation of proposals Follow-up of all quotations Delivering of world class service Liaising between Business Development, Contracting and Sales Supplier Negotiation: Understanding your specific market and the competition to achieve the main goal of ensuring agents are competitive within the market Maintaining good relationships with the suppliers to achieve these goals Client Relationships: Ensure client expectations are met and the highest delivery of service is achieved with best product and pricing. Continually look at creative ideas and review products offered to clients Build and retain relationships with clients with effective communication Ensure that all correspondence, documentation, proposals, presentations are delivered accurately and timeously Follow-up with clients and leads through Market Managers Flexibility to assist colleagues out of normal office hours, when and if required Team Work: Build and maintain good relationships within the the team and the business units within the group Travelling with agents may be required Supplier Relationships: Commitment to and building relationships our preferred partners Ensure that the best rates are negotiated and secured Understanding supplier products to ensure best product for client Actively source new products and creative ideas Always work according to the supplier strategy Learning and Development: Develop product knowledge on an ongoing basis Attend industry events / seminars / webinars and participate in supplier workshops, educational trips and trade shows Keep abreast of industry trends Requirements: Matric Tertiary Qualification in Tourism an advantage At least 4 years of experience in Inbound Travel in a similar position Operations in Groups and FITS an advantage Costing experience in a tourism operations background. Attention to detail is essential A mature approach when dealing with people Capacity for dealing with employers and workers at all levels Confidentiality, tact and discretion when dealing with people Excellent planning, organisational, and analytical skills Good verbal and written communication skills Integrity and Honesty Good interpersonal skills Good Problem-solving skills Negotiation and liaison ability Research skills
