About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a luxury property group for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Accountant. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional with strong leadership skills, capable of managing a finance team while requiring minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial controls across all aspects of the units business
- Collaborate with Finance Managers, Operations Managers, and General Managers on budgets, programmes, schedules, and objectives to ensure efficient and profitable operations
- Analyse and interpret monthly financial accounts for each property, reporting anomalies to the Group CEO
- Oversee year-end audits of the properties
- Prepare and present monthly financial packs and weekly financial reports to the Finance Manager
- Compile variance reports on all budget overspends and highlight discrepancies, changes in policy, or strategy
- Ensure compliance with financial manuals, checklists, and procedures; draft new policies as required for CEO approval
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, improving skill levels and promoting job satisfaction
- Oversee personnel functions, including maintenance of employee files, contracts, leave schedules, payroll, medical aid, provident fund, statutory compliance, and audits of documentation
Requirements
- 24 years experience as a Financial Accountant or Manager within the hospitality industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with good to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with SAGE ONE
- Experience with VIP Payroll / Payspace
- Understanding of CIMSO system is a plus
- Strong leadership qualities and commercial awareness
Qualifications
- Matric required; further accounting/finance qualification is a bonus
- Valid RSA ID
Salary & Benefits
R40,000 per month + benefits (CTC, including medical aid)
