About the Role
A leading hospitality group based in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced and strategic HR Manager to oversee the full Human Resources function across multiple hotels and lodges. This role focuses on driving a high-performance culture, ensuring legal compliance, and aligning HR strategy with operational and service excellence goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures across the group
• Ensure full legal compliance with all labour legislation and HR practices
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning across properties
• Oversee performance management systems and staff development programmes
• Manage industrial relations, including disciplinary processes and CCMA matters
• Oversee payroll administration, HR systems, and reporting accuracy
• Drive employee engagement, wellness, and organisational culture initiatives
• Maintain accurate HR records, audits, and statutory reporting
• Support management teams and act as a trusted HR advisor across all properties
• Travel between properties and provide operational HR support when required
Requirements
- RSA ID and legal residence essential
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an HR Manager or Assistant HR Manager within hospitality
- Proven experience managing large workforces (100 employees)
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EE Act, OHSA)
- Experience with industrial relations, CCMA processes and conflict resolution
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Payroll system experience (e.g. SAGE) advantageous
- Experience across multiple properties beneficial
