Senior Travel Specialist – High-End FIT’s (x3) Bryanston, Johannesburg Salary: Negotiable based on experience. My client is seeking three highly experienced Senior Travel Specialists to join their luxury inbound division, focusing on bespoke, tailor-made FIT itineraries for discerning international travellers and multigenerational family groups. This role is suited to a true luxury travel expert — someone who thrives on detail, understands the expectations of the high-end market, and can confidently design seamless, extraordinary African journeys from concept through to execution. You will be responsible for exceeding client expectations, meeting strict turnaround times, achieving sales targets, and managing the full operational lifecycle of each booking. Key Responsibilities Client Consultation & Itinerary Design Conduct in-depth consultations with high-end clients and agents to understand preferences and travel expectations Design highly personalised, luxury itineraries including accommodation, private transfers, exclusive experiences and dining Ensure exceptional attention to detail in every element of the client journey Quoting, Reservations & Operations Acknowledge written requests within 24 hours and provide professional written confirmations Open and manage client files according to required standards Load and manage reservations on Tourplan Confirm all services with suppliers and manage deadlines, conditions and payment requirements Arrange meet & greets and handle escalations or complaints professionally Manage MOD phone and urgent queries when required Supplier & Destination Expertise Maintain strong supplier relationships to secure the best product and exclusive experiences Excellent knowledge of South Africa and regional destinations, particularly Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia Continuously source new products and creative travel ideas Payments, Finance & Reporting Ensure timeous invoicing and follow up on payments Liaise with Finance regarding queries and pre-payments Manage margins, reconcile files and explain variances Keep management informed of any potential issues Client & Team Collaboration Maintain exceptional communication with agents and clients at all times Work collaboratively within the team and assist colleagues after hours when required Uphold confidentiality and follow all internal procedures and reporting standards Requirements Matric / Grade 12 Minimum 5 years’ senior experience in the inbound luxury tourism sector Extensive experience designing tailor-made FIT itineraries Strong Tourplan working knowledge (essential) Exceptional regional knowledge: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia Travel & Tourism qualification advantageous Excellent grammar, well spoken and highly professional communication style Strong planning, organisational and analytical skills
