About the Role
Tsebo Catering Solutions is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen operation at one of our mining sites in Limpopo. We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, committed to high standards of hygiene, and able to deliver quality meals at scale in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full kitchen operation on-site.
- Plan, prepare, and oversee the delivery of high-quality meals for large groups.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety regulations, and Tsebo quality standards.
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and cost control.
- Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff.
- Develop menus tailored to client and site needs.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with clients, staff, and management.
- Uphold Tsebo’s values of service excellence, safety, and teamwork.
Requirements
Formal culinary qualification (Trade Test / Diploma in Professional Cookery).
Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef, preferably in remote camps, mining, industrial catering, or large-scale food service.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver consistently high standards.
Solid understanding of nutrition, menu planning, and cost control.
Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene protocols.
Willingness to work in a remote mining environment.
Qualifications
