Job Description

Assistant Executive Housekeeper An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Executive Housekeeper to join a respected and progressive four star hotel. This role calls for an inspiring, empowering, and results-driven leader with a passion for service excellence, who thrives on maintaining high standards and achieving operational and financial goals. Key Responsibilities Oversee the general management of the housekeeping department in collaboration with the Executive Housekeeper. Set and maintain housekeeping service standards in alignment with operational goals. Ensure the timely availability of clean rooms and verify daily inspections conducted by Floor Supervisors. Conduct regular training sessions on guest service, hygiene, cleanliness, and SOPs to ensure world-class service delivery. Lead and inspire a large team, building teamwork, accountability, and a culture of excellence. Manage staff processes, including recruitment, performance management, industrial relations, and professional presentation standards. Oversee cost management, stock control, workforce planning, rostering, and daily administration. Requirements Matric qualification. Flexibility to work shifts. Own transport (advantageous). Proficiency in MS 365 (essential) and knowledge of Opera (advantageous). Proven ability to lead and manage large teams effectively. Validated experience in a similar role within the housekeeping department of a busy, upmarket establishment: essential. Strong housekeeping operational background, with expertise in cost management, stock monitoring, workforce planning, and recruitment. Competencies Accuracy and devotion to quality. Strong leadership, directing, and team-building skills. Ability to perform under pressure and manage competing priorities. Planning and organisational capability. Guest-focused with integrity, initiative, and assertiveness. Drive; passion, and a commitment to excellence.
