About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend solutions that meet the needs of our external users. With at least 5 years of commercial experience in backend development, you will bring expertise in Java/Kotlin, Linux environments, cloud platforms, and distributed source control systems to the table.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and deploy RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • Implement event-driven architecture and CQRS patterns
  • Work with message queues and REST services

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of commercial backend development experience
  • Java/Kotlin programming skills
  • Familiarity with deployment to Linux environments
  • Cloud platform experience (advantageous)
