About the Role
The Boilershop department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, reliable individual to join their team as a Boilermaker Team Leader. This role involves overseeing and assisting with repairs and maintenance of existing components, coordinating tasks onsite or offsite, and ensuring compliance with safe working procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to read, understand and interpret fabrication drawings in order to fabricate new components
- Attend, oversee and assist with repairs and maintenance of existing components
- Assist Management with coordinating repairs and maintenance tasks onsite or offsite
- Assist Management with ensuring that all team members comply with the safe working procedures
- Provide daily feedback on work status to Management
- Submit Cworks requests to ensure quality and planned maintenance
- Support Management in ensuring compliance to timekeeping, productive output, discipline and work programs
- Facilitate logistics of jobs with the goal of reducing standing time, including coordination with other departments
- Monitor quality and efficiency of teams work programs and report any issues or possible improvements
- Any other tasks or adhoc duties, as agreed with the department management, suited to this level of leadership
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Must have a relevant trade test certificate in Boilermaking/Welding
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Qualified Boilermaker/Welder in a similar environment (Steel and/or Industrial environment)
- Valid drivers license
- Extensive knowledge of power tools
- Knowledge and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety Rules and regulations
- Ability to work under challenging conditions
- No fear of heights
- Excellent communication skills (understand, read and write in English)
