About the Role
Cardamom Kitchen, a growing Cape Town-based halaal catering business, is seeking a part-time bookkeeper to help manage our finances and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Operations Manager to ensure accurate financial tracking, compliance, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Weekly cash flow tracking and management
- Record all financial transactions (sales, expenses, payments)
- Bank reconciliations (weekly/monthly)
- Expense categorisation and cost control analysis
- Monthly financial reports (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet)
- Tax compliance (SARS, VAT, PAYE) preparation and submissions
- Financial projections and budgeting support
- Supplier payment tracking and creditor management
- Payroll administration (staff contractors)
- Work closely with Operations Manager on recipe costings and pricing
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial inefficiencies
Requirements
Proven bookkeeping experience (minimum 2-3 years)
