About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, supply chain or industrial engineering environments, with a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost optimisation. They will be responsible for providing strategic support to senior management, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, GMP and Food Safety Management Systems, and contributing to the development of sustainable manufacturing practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse manufacturing processes to identify efficiency and cost optimisation opportunities
  • Conduct time studies, work measurement and process mapping
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end product cost models
  • Support pricing strategies, tenders and commercial negotiations
  • Analyse cost variances and provide actionable insights
  • Drive ERP data accuracy, governance and system integrity (BOMs, routings, costing)
  • Build and maintain cost, performance and operational dashboards
  • Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Apply Lean and Industrial Engineering tools to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, IT and Commercial teams

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) level education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • 35 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain or industrial engineering environments
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Manufacturing processes (labour, machine utilisation, yields, scrap, rework, capacity)
  • Supply chain operations and raw material flow
  • Cost modelling and variance analysis (standard vs actual costing)
  • ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, inventory and costing structures)
  • Advanced Excel skills (Power BI advantageous)
