Job Summary

The Integrated Logistics Support Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of logistics support activities within the UAV aviation industry in South Africa. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics processes, supply chain management, and technical support to ensure efficient operations and optimal performance of unmanned aerial vehicle systems. Key responsibilities / main job duties: Logistics Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement logistics plans and strategies to support UAV operations. Coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. Supply Chain Management: Manage the supply chain from procurement to delivery, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability. Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock levels to meet operational requirements. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support for UAV systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance planning. Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues promptly. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of logistics activities, including procurement, shipments, and inventory. Generate regular reports on logistics performance and recommend improvements. Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Conduct audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality and safety protocols. Training and Development: Train logistics and support staff on best practices and procedures. Stay updated with advancements in UAV technology and logistics practices through continuous learning. Type of qualification: Bachelors degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in logistics management within the aviation industry, preferably with UAVs or aerospace systems. Strong understanding of supply chain principles, inventory management, and logistics software. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is advantageous. Years of experience required: 5 to 10 Years Required to have their own transport Proficiency in certain applications/computer programmes: Experience with ERP systems and logistics management software. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety standards related to UAV operations. Project management experience, particularly in implementing logistics strategies and initiatives. Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) is advantageous. Non-negotiable skills: Aviation Industry Experience: Proven track record in integrated logistics support management within the aviation sector, with a thorough understanding of aviation maintenance practices, regulations, and standards. Leadership and Team Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of logistics professionals, ensuring high performance and adherence to organizational goals. Strategic Thinking: Strong analytical skills and strategic mindset to develop and execute logistics strategies that align with business objectives and enhance operational efficiency. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders. Problem-Solving Abilities: Proficiency in analyzing complex logistics challenges, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to improve processes and outcomes.
