Cape Town City Centre: IT Systems Administrator

Key Responsibilities Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory. Manage and support virtualization platforms, storage solutions, and network services. Perform routine system backups, updates, and patch management to maintain security and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve escalated infrastructure and network issues. Assist with planning and deployment of new technologies and infrastructure projects. Maintain system documentation, asset records, and change control logs. Collaborate with site IT teams to ensure consistent system performance and adherence to standards. Ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and assist with periodic audits. Provide technical support to other IT staff and act as an escalation point for complex issues. Minimum Requirements National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent qualification). 5 years experience in systems administration or infrastructure support. Strong knowledge of: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) Microsoft 365 / Exchange / Azure AD VMware or Hyper-V Networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching) Backup and disaster recovery solutions Experience with endpoint management tools such as SCCM or Ivanti.
