About the Role
As a Key Account Manager: Retail Media in our Cape Town City Centre office, you will be responsible for maximizing revenue and cultivating strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers (endemic and non-endemic advertisers) and internal stakeholders to grow the Retail Media Network. This role is the primary commercial interface, tasked with selling the value proposition of the Retail Media ecosystem, ensuring the flawless execution of campaigns, and reporting on performance to deliver exceptional return on investment (ROI).
Key Responsibilities
- Growing and retaining Key Supplier relationships
- Developing and implementing a solid relationship management process to retain and grow business within key accounts
- Developing business proposals to onboard new partners
- Retail Media commercial and sales growth – Meeting and exceeding sales targets for key suppliers
- Co-creating and executing a comprehensive sales strategy
- Ensuring that financial budgets are met for the Financial year
- Overseeing Campaign execution and performance
- Managing the end-to-end campaign lifecycle
- Stakeholder management
- Fostering Internal collaboration and value delivery
- Bridging between PEP’s internal teams and advertiser
- Ongoing project management and administration within portfolio
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in Key Account Management, Media Sales, or AdTech sales
- Desirable/Advantage: Digital Marketing or Sales Certification, Retail Media accreditation (either Amazon, Tesco, Walmart etc)
- OR 5-8 years experience as a KAM in the retail media, e-commerce or trade marketing space
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding significant revenue targets
- Experience negotiating and closing complex commercial agreements
- Desirable/Advantage: Previous experience working with Cellular/FMCG supplier accounts
Qualifications
- Solid understanding of retail media models (Sponsored Products, Display, DSP/Programmatic, Off Platform, In-store, CRM)
- Proficiency in sales CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) will be an advantage
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
- Data literacy for interpreting campaign analytics (e.g., ROI, ROAS, AOV)
