About the Role

Lead Design Engineer position in Cape Town City Centre seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a passion for first principle designs and leadership skills. We are looking for a skilled engineer to lead our design team, manage projects, and ensure technical soundness and compliance of designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers to establish and prioritize the utilization of design resources
  • Delegate work to assigned engineering personnel
  • Directs and guides design engineers on technical related issues
  • Manage project/task timelines to ensure agreed milestones are reached
  • Take responsibility for the technical soundness and compliance of designs to customers
  • Organize and lead “internal” design reviews to ensure designs meet soundness and compliance standards
  • Lead design reviews with customers and suppliers

Requirements

  • B Eng. Degree or B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical design engineering experience (10-15 Years)
  • 3D CAD experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • B Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Design engineering experience (10-15 Years)
