About the Role
The Social Worker role at SOS Children’s Village in Cape Town involves ensuring adherence to child admission and departure procedures, providing advice and guidance to Child and Youth Care Workers, and supporting the overall development of each child. As part of our team, you will work closely with staff members to plan programmes for children’s growth and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure Adherence to Child Admission & Departure Procedures
- Provide advice, guidance and support to Child and Youth Care Workers
- Plan appropriate programmes for the development of each child
- Support other staff members on issues relating to Care-workers and children
- Maintain Expert Knowledge on Social Work Issues
- Build relationships with stakeholders
- Perform Detailed Administrative Tasks
- Safeguard and protect children, youth, adults and assets
Requirements
- Degree in Social Sciences/Child and Youth Care work or relevant Qualification
- Registered professional in child and Youth care
- Valid SA drivers licence
- 5 years relevant operational experience, with at least 3 years in a similar environment
- Understanding of NGO operations, best practices, and market trends
- Knowledge of Child and youth development principles
- Knowledge of programmes in an NGO environment
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Management, Project Management or any other relevant field (advantageous)
