About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to lead our electrical design team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing cohesive electrical designs, optimizing team performance, and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead a cohesive electrical design team
Implement strategies to optimize team performance and collaboration
Perform CAD design tasks, including 3D modelling and the creation of 2D drawings
Maintain accurate product data within customer PDM systems
Support customer order engineering requests and prioritize design projects
Ensure efficient utilization of design resources based on customer requirements
Maintain and establish strong customer relationships to prioritize design resource allocation
Assess results for comparison against customer requirements and design standards
Manage project timelines to achieve milestones and promptly address deviations

Requirements

Minimum of 15 years of post-graduate engineering design experience
Preferably with wiring design and controller integration in automotive electrical design
Capable of leveraging AI-enabled engineering and digital tools
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Attention to detail

Qualifications

BEng, BSc or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering
