Onboarding Service Charge Accountant Join a rapidly growing Block and Estate Management company to take responsibility for onboarding portfolio units and ensuring accurate financial data. Leatherhead / Cape Town, Block and Estate Management, R35 000 – R50 000 p/m About Our Client Our client is a rapidly growing Block and Estate Management company providing service charge accounting and financial management for residential properties across England. They are committed to operational excellence and leveraging technology to streamline processes while maintaining strict financial controls and regulatory compliance. The Role: Onboarding Service Charge Accountant The purpose of this role is to work alongside Property Managers to manage the onboarding of opening financial balances for new properties into the Qube system. This role exists to ensure that incoming financial data is reconciled, uploaded accurately, and that service charges are correctly calculated and apportioned. It contributes to the business by maintaining accuracy and transparency in all financial matters during the property handover period. Key Responsibilities Onboard new properties into the Qube system by reconciling opening balances and interrogating incoming data. Prepare accurate service charge budgets and accounting in compliance with ICAEW standards and industry regulations. Calculate and allocate service charges for each property to ensure expenses align with lease agreements and previous manager information. Conduct bank reconciliations on opening and interim balances to ensure funds are held in appropriate accounts according to legal requirements. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, freeholders, and clients. Provide detailed analysis of expenditure, budget variances, and forecasting related to current and previous agent spend. Liaise with auditors during the annual audit process by providing documentation and responding to queries. Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and handle related queries in compliance with HMRC guidelines. About You Qualified professional status. Experience in a similar industry. Experience using Qube service charge accounting system. Detail-oriented and highly organised. Knowledge of ICAEW service charge accounting standards and financial legislation. Ability to engage with stakeholders, including property managers, clients, and auditors.
