About the Role

SA Metal Group is seeking a committed and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Security Officer in Cape Town City Centre. The successful incumbent will be responsible for securing the premises and personnel, while also ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal property by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates
  • Search pedestrians, vehicles, and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises
  • Ensure that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE and that the PPE is returned after their visit
  • Ensure that any item/s leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
  • Conduct breathalyzer tests and ensure staff pass before granting access to staff
  • Man all gates at all times
  • Patrol assigned areas at regular intervals
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Previous security experience
  • Registered with PSIRA – minimum Grade C
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Willingness to work shifts, both day and night
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Excellent communications skills
