About the Role
The Senior Technician / Plant Manager will oversee the day-to-day technical operations of our production plant, leading a maintenance and technical team to ensure equipment reliability and minimal downtime. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in managing plant maintenance, machinery, and teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day technical operations of the production plant
- Manage and lead the maintenance and technical team
- Plan and implement preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for plant machinery
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues on production equipment, piston systems, pumps, and related machinery
- Ensure plant machinery operates efficiently to meet production targets and quality standards
- Manage maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with production teams to ensure smooth plant operations
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards within the plant
- Assist with plant improvements, equipment upgrades, and process optimisation
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and maintenance staff
Requirements
Trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Technician, or similar technical qualification
Strong experience working in manufacturing or beverage production environments
Proven experience in plant maintenance, machinery management, and team supervision
Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, pumps, pistons, and production machinery
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
Ability to lead a technical team and manage plant operations effectively
Good understanding of health and safety regulations within manufacturing plants
