About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and hands-on Storeman / Stores Assistant to join our well-established manufacturing business in Lansdowne, Cape Town. This role is ideal for someone with strong computer skills, experience handling tools and consumables, and a solid understanding of stock control within a manufacturing or workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, issuing, and controlling tools, spares, and consumables
- Maintaining accurate stock records and inventories
- Ensuring effective stock control and minimum/maximum stock levels
- General housekeeping and organisation of the stores area
- Assisting with stock counts and inventory checks
- Supporting workshop and operational staff when required
- Basic administration and capturing of stock data on computer systems
Requirements
Previous experience in a stores / storeman role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, Good computer literacy (stock systems, Excel, basic admin), Practical knowledge of tools, spares, and consumables, Strong attention to detail and organisational skills, Ability to work independently and take initiative, Valid driver’s licence (advantageous, but not essential)
Salary & Benefits
Salary of approximately R14,000 per month
