About the Role

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and management of all onsite marketing, brand, public relations, and communication initiatives in Cape Town City Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an annual, results-driven marketing strategy aligned with business objectives
  • Compile and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective execution
  • Monitor marketing spend, control costs, and report on ROI and campaign effectiveness
  • Deliver regular and ad hoc marketing performance reports to management
  • Act as primary custodian of the brand, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels
  • Coordinate creative campaigns, including brand, promotional, seasonal, and event-specific campaigns
  • Manage advertising production processes from concept to execution
  • Plan and book media across appropriate platforms to maximize reach and exposure
  • Ensure all marketing assets are professionally maintained, catalogued, and compliant
  • Plan, conceptualize, and execute annual, seasonal, and tactical promotions and events
  • Secure sponsorships and partnerships to increase event budgets and value
  • Oversee event execution teams and external suppliers
  • Develop and implement a digital and social media strategy aligned with marketing objectives
  • Manage social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Oversee website development, enhancements, and ongoing optimisation
  • Drive digital engagement, online campaigns, and mobile platform improvements
  • Ensure all digital activity adheres to brand guidelines and best practice standards
  • Develop and execute an effective PR strategy
  • Draft and distribute press releases to relevant media outlets
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media professionals
  • Manage reputation and crisis communication planning
  • Implement tenant marketing support and onboarding initiatives
  • Manage tenant communication including newsletters, updates, and workshops
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with tenants and industry stakeholders
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with regional retail and industry contacts

Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Marketing Manager in a retail or commercial environment (or 5–7 years’ marketing experience with strong PR and people management exposure)

About the Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the complete onsite marketing function, assisting with formulating, and implementing sustainable marketing and brand strategies, public relations and communication strategies and policies while managing the marketing and information staff’s key outputs and representing Centre management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile a comprehensive marketing strategy in line with Centers objectives and research results on an annual basis.
  • Manage the execution of the marketing strategy daily.
  • Manage and control the marketing budget and expenditure in line with marketing activities.
  • Coordinate the creative campaigns developed for the Centers brand, Centre and event/promotion specific campaigns and manage the creative and production process.
  • Determine the preferred media and tools to use in the advertising strategy and initiate all media planning and booking.
  • Act as the primary brand custodian for the shopping Centre.
  • Manage marketing department and administration.
  • Ensure all marketing assets are systematically maintained and registered.
  • Hold a formal monthly marketing meeting with the property team and ensure minutes are accurate and recorded.
  • Filing and maintenance of all records relating to marketing of the Centre.
  • Planning and implementation of promotions and events: sustain brand awareness levels, conceptualize events/promotions in line with marketing strategy and oversee event team’s implementation.
  • Drive the digital and social media strategy for the Centre: implement digital/social media strategy as detailed in the Centre marketing strategy.
  • Manage social media (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook).
  • Implement workable strategies to improve mobile app and engagement platforms.
  • Manage website redevelopment and improvement.
  • Media relations, public relations and publicity: develop PR strategy in line with approved marketing plan and strategy.
  • Develop and implement an effective crises communication management plan and ensure all management role players are trained effectively as detailed by the plan.
  • Compile and implement the exhibitions and indoor/outdoor sales strategy to meet income targets.
  • Manage contractual SLAs of any external media agencies appointed by the Centre.
  • Implement CSI program: develop CSI strategy in line with marketing plan and marketing strategy.
