A leading retail company in Cape Town is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Ladieswear Fashion Designer to join their team.
The successful incumbent for this position will be responsible for:
- Closely collaborate with the Buying team to deliver the product strategy with our customer being at the heart of what we do.
- Design garments and prints according to the predicted popular colours, key items and details but always in line with brand profiles.
- Research and commercially translate seasonal trends using business analytics, customer insights, trend tools, local and international retailing and your own point of view.
- Lead the aesthetic and range build through your designs to ensure that we always maintain our brands’ identities and cover the key items for the season.
- Develop placement and all-over graphic prints for womenswear.
- Develop detailed and accurate Tech packs fast.
- Develop print briefs to our textile printers.
- Attend fittings and give input to ensure we maintain our quality and fit standards.
- Help trade into bestsellers by proposing updates, fast.
- Continuously find and share new sources of inspiration and seek opportunities for growth.
Key requirements:
- Fashion Degree
- 5 years of design experience in a similar fashion retail or creative manufacturing environment.
- Proficient InDesign and Photoshop, as well as CAD skills.
