About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client in the construction industry is seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech) to join their team in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for a talented engineer with an interest in project management and becoming a Programme Manager or Project Leader in the construction field.

Key Responsibilities

Project planning, scoping, and timeline establishment
Designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Estimating costs and budgeting for mechanical elements.
Procuring materials and equipment.
Overseeing mechanical installations during construction.
Ensuring quality through inspections and testing.
Managing project schedules and addressing delays.
Assessing and mitigating risks related to mechanical systems.
Documenting project progress and communicating with stakeholders.
Maintaining client relationships and addressing concerns promptly.
Sign off on mechanical projects.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
Minimum of 8 years of post registration experience in mechanical engineering
Project management and project leadership experience is preferred
Possess strong technical skills in mechanical design and analysis
Excellent knowledge of relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Qualifications

Registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
