About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in the construction industry is seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech) to join their team in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for a talented engineer with an interest in project management and becoming a Programme Manager or Project Leader in the construction field.
Key Responsibilities
- Project planning, scoping, and timeline establishment
- Designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Estimating costs and budgeting for mechanical elements.
- Procuring materials and equipment.
- Overseeing mechanical installations during construction.
- Ensuring quality through inspections and testing.
- Managing project schedules and addressing delays.
- Assessing and mitigating risks related to mechanical systems.
- Documenting project progress and communicating with stakeholders.
- Maintaining client relationships and addressing concerns promptly.
- Sign off on mechanical projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
- Minimum of 8 years of post registration experience in mechanical engineering
- Project management and project leadership experience is preferred
- Possess strong technical skills in mechanical design and analysis
- Excellent knowledge of relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
