Hire Resolve’s client in the construction industry is seeking a Professional Mechanical Engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech) to join their team in Cape Town. This is a great opportunity for a talented engineer with an interest in project management and becoming a Programme Manager or Project Leader in the construction field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project planning, scoping, and timeline establishment
• Designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Estimating costs and budgeting for mechanical elements.
• Procuring materials and equipment.
• Overseeing mechanical installations during construction.
• Ensuring quality through inspections and testing.
• Managing project schedules and addressing delays.
• Assessing and mitigating risks related to mechanical systems.
• Documenting project progress and communicating with stakeholders.
• Maintaining client relationships and addressing concerns promptly.
• Sign off on mechanical projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Registered as a professional engineer (Pr Eng/Pr Tech)
• Minimum of 8 years of post registration experience in mechanical engineering
• Project management and project leadership experience is preferred
• Possess strong technical skills in mechanical design and analysis
• Excellent knowledge of relevant software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculation software
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
• Experience in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
