About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cape Town. As a key member of the construction company, you will be responsible for preparing and managing detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation for residential and commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation for residential and commercial projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, and value engineering to ensure project profitability.
- Manage tendering and procurement processes, including evaluating bids and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Administer and monitor contracts and subcontracts, including claims, payments, and variations.
- Maintain strict cost control and reporting systems throughout project lifecycles.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify quantities, progress, and material usage.
- Prepare monthly valuations and cost reports for management and clients.
- Liaise closely with project managers, site managers, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless communication.
- Support the final account and project close-out processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client expectations, and contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
- Professional registration (PQS) advantageous.
- 510 years relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential and/or commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of cost management, estimating, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in QS software and advanced Excel knowledge.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
