Cape Town City Centre: Accounts Payable Manager

About the Role

The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the end-to-end accounts payable function, drive process improvement, and manage supplier relationships in a key leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s team in Cape Town and contribute to the efficient management of its financial accounts payable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval, posting and payment.
  • Manage, coach and develop the accounts payable team, including workload allocation and performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key suppliers to resolve high-risk or aged issues.
  • Own AP metrics including invoice processing timeliness, aged payables, query resolution times, and PO vs. non-PO invoice ratios.
  • Act as AP process owner for finance systems, including SAP 4 HANA and SAP Concur, to drive process improvements and automation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function in a medium sized organisation.
  • Previous people management experience.
  • Strong understanding of AP controls, payment processes and supplier management.
  • Experience working with SAP, preferably SAP 4 HANA and SAP Concur.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills.
  • Comfortable working to deadlines in a reasonable volume environment.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident, pragmatic and able to challenge constructively.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders at different levels.

  • Part-qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.

Salary & Benefits
