About the Role
The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the end-to-end accounts payable function, drive process improvement, and manage supplier relationships in a key leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s team in Cape Town and contribute to the efficient management of its financial accounts payable operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice receipt, coding, approval, posting and payment.
- Manage, coach and develop the accounts payable team, including workload allocation and performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and financial policies.
- Act as the senior point of contact for key suppliers to resolve high-risk or aged issues.
- Own AP metrics including invoice processing timeliness, aged payables, query resolution times, and PO vs. non-PO invoice ratios.
- Act as AP process owner for finance systems, including SAP 4 HANA and SAP Concur, to drive process improvements and automation.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing an Accounts Payable function in a medium sized organisation.
- Previous people management experience.
- Strong understanding of AP controls, payment processes and supplier management.
- Experience working with SAP, preferably SAP 4 HANA and SAP Concur.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills.
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a reasonable volume environment.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Confident, pragmatic and able to challenge constructively.
- Strong communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders at different levels.
Qualifications
- Part-qualified AAT, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 p/m
