About the Role

As a Club Facilities Manager at Virgin Active South Africa Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the exceptional maintenance of our facilities and contributing to our purpose of inspiring people to live active lives. You will be responsible for proactive maintenance, preventative measures, and reactive repairs within your club, while also upskilling Maintenance Operators and Technicians. Your duties will involve communicating with contractors, managing budgets, and maintaining health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative maintenance activities on out-of-warranty fitness equipment, swimming pool/spa systems, HVAC systems, hot and cold-water systems, and all building preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to emergency repairs and ensure Maintenance Operators and Technicians are continually upskilled.
  • Discuss contractor requests with the Club General Manager and Regional Facility Manager before requesting a purchase order.
  • Escalate issues that cannot be resolved to the Club General Manager and Regional Facility Manager.
  • Fulfil duties related to health and safety processes and checks, including conducting Health and Safety Audits as directed by the business.
  • Manage all utility consumption within the club, investigating and resolving high water and electricity consumption.
  • Address state of repair Brand Standards concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Club General Manager with managing budgets for maintenance premises, physical plant, pools, water hygiene, grounds, consumables, health and safety society expenses.
  • Facilitate a healthy team environment as an HOD within the club.

Requirements

  • Matric (NSC) qualification
  • Advanced relevant Technical qualification
  • Passion for maintenance and brand standards within clubs
  • Minimum of 2-3 years proven maintenance experience
  • Hands-on experience of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, plant equipment
  • Understanding of utilities consumption
