About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Brackenfell, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing high-end clients, preparing monthly management accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. With a strong background in statutory taxes and excellent planning and organizational skills, you will play a key role in overseeing the workload of junior clerks and training them to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of high-end clients
Prepare monthly management accounts, VAT, PAYE, WCA
Ensure accurate financial reporting and comply with statutory requirements
Oversee and manage the workload of junior clerks
Train and mentor junior clerks to improve their skills and knowledge
Integrate monthly accounting into compilation drafting for the compilation department

Requirements

Strong experience managing a portfolio of high-end clients
Excellent knowledge of statutory taxes (VAT, PAYE, UIF, WCA, Income Tax, etc.)
Brilliant planning, organizational, and deadline-management skills
Ability to oversee and manage the workload of junior clerks
Experience training and mentoring junior clerks
Proficiency in Xero, Pastel, and general accounting software

Qualifications

Professional qualification advantageous but not a requirement
