About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking a seasoned financial services professional to join their team as a Risk Analyst in Cape Town’s financial hub. As a mid-level specialist, you will oversee risk management activities for their Distribution Wealth division, driving independent analysis, enhancing risk systems, and influencing business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk Management Oversight: Oversee all risk management activities for the Distribution Wealth division.
- Analysis & Assessment: Plan, execute, and manage accurate, independent risk analysis and assessments, covering both financial and operational risks.
- System Enhancement: Evaluate, enhance, and automate analysis and reporting, and improve the risk management system.
- Reporting & Feedback: Collate and draft appropriate risk reports and provide effective feedback to management.
- Compliance & Monitoring: Monitor risk tolerance levels, ensure operational incidents are documented, and assist in improving risk management culture and awareness (FAIS Act knowledge is advantageous).
- Leadership: Supervise or manage direct reports and build strong relationships with business stakeholders.
Requirements
- Qualification: Post-graduate degree or a relevant qualification (e.g., Degree in chartered accountant, actuary, data/math/stats, engineering).
- Experience: More than 4 years of experience (specifically 3 – 4 years of securities, investment, IT systems, and risk experience in the Financial Services industry).
- Designations (Advantageous): Risk management / CFP / CFA designation.
- Technical Skills (Advantageous): Programming abilities and specialist knowledge on regulatory matters (i.e., FAIS Act).
- Competencies: Strong problem solving, resilience, attention to detail, and communication skills.
