Job Description

About the Role

As a Site Supervisor (HVAC) with PM Connection, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of HVAC projects in Cape Town. You will work closely with site teams, including installers, subcontractors, and labour, to ensure that work is executed safely, efficiently, and to programme. This is a permanent position that requires strong leadership and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations on HVAC projects
  • Supervise and coordinate site teams (installers, subcontractors, labour)
  • Ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and to programme
  • Drive productivity on site and ensure deadlines are met

Planning & Coordination

  • Read and interpret drawings, schedules, and installation details
  • Plan daily and weekly work activities with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment required on site
  • Ensure correct sequencing of work to avoid delays and rework

Quality Control

  • Ensure installations meet Company standards, SANS requirements, and OEM specifications
  • Conduct ongoing quality checks during installation
  • Identify and rectify snags proactively before inspections
  • Ensure neat, professional, and precise workmanship on all installations

Health & Safety

  • Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with HSE requirements
  • Conduct toolbox talks and ensure all staff follow safe working procedures
  • Ensure proper use of PPE at all times
  • Report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately

Technical Execution

  • Oversee installation of HVAC systems
  • Assist with system testing, pressure testing, and commissioning support
  • Identify technical issues early and escalate where necessary
  • Work closely with engineers and Project Manager to resolve on-site challenges

Reporting & Communication

  • Provide daily feedback on site progress, labour, and issues
  • Report delays, risks, and resource constraints to the Project Manager
  • Maintain site records (labour returns, delivery notes, site instructions)
  • Liaise with other trades to ensure smooth coordination
