Cato Ridge: Production Superintendent posted by Tower Group

Our client a leader in the steel industry is seeking an experienced Production Production Superintendent to join their team based in Cato Ridge.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• Production experience N6 National Diploma (Engineering)/ Operations Management.
• Minimum 5 -10 Years of extensive experience in Steel Industry, specific experience in Cold Rolling and Roll Shop Management
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, MS Projects, Power Point)
• Planning and coordinating

MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS

• Supervising operations & managing the shift teams.
• Ability to develop SOP to required standard.
• Ensure incoming material inspection as per SOP.
• Manage optimum utilization of production line.
• Monitoring of production parameters as per SOP.
• Ensuring that output conforms to Quality SOP.
• Ensure compliance to prescribed material consumption parameters.
• Monitor utilities i.e. cooling tower, compressor & cooling water.
• Liaise with Maintenance & Quality Assurance.
• Ensure team compliance with procedure & statutory requirements.
• Responsible for the shift team training and development.
• Capture data on SAP for e.g., coil identification, materials, roll usage & leave.
• Signing off & submission of verified compensation related documentation to HR.
• Ensure proper shift-handover.
• Reporting of operating parameters and capturing consumptions
• Long term planning for Mill and Roll shop
• Adhere to safe work practice and good housekeeping (6S)
