Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide for a luxury villa based in the scenic Cederberg region. This unique opportunity is ideal for a guide who thrives in a nature-rich environment and enjoys engaging guests with outdoor adventures, geological wonders, and cultural history.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about:

• Leading hikes through rugged terrain

• Exploring geological and historical sites including Bushman rock art and formations

• Stargazing and sharing astronomical insights

• Camping with guests in nature

• Presenting and facilitating a well-structured Kids Programme

Minimum Qualifications:

• FGASA Level 1 or a relevant tertiary qualification

Specialised Knowledge & Skills:

• Familiarity with Western Cape fauna and flora (including Fynbos and Succulent Karoo)

• Sound understanding of Natural Sciences and Professional Guiding principles

• Experience in adventure and activity-based guiding

• Camping proficiency

Experience Required:

• Previous guiding experience in a 4* or 5* lodge environment

• 4×4 driving experience (advantageous)

Candidate Requirements:

• Fluent in English and Afrikaans

• A third language is advantageous

• Valid drivers licence with PDP

• Valid First Aid Certificate

• Snake handling experience (advantageous)

• Knowledge of astronomy and stargazing (advantageous)

• Computer literacy (Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Strong interpersonal and social skills

Package Includes:

• Salary: R8,000 per month

• Work cycle: 21 days on / 7 days off

• Accommodation: Live-in

• Meals: 3 meals per day while on duty

• Wi-Fi: Complimentary access

• Uniform: 50% cost contribution (deducted over several months)

• Transport: Own vehicle required
