About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team in Durban, responsible for preparing Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
- Prepare statements, e.g.: Statement of Financial position (Balance Sheet), Income Statement (Profit & Loss), Cash Flow Statements
- Ensure AFS aligns with standards such as IFRS or local frameworks like GAAP
- Prepare working papers and supporting schedules
- Liaise with Auditors
- Providing requested documents
- Explaining figures and adjustments
- Processing year-end journals (e.g., accruals, depreciation, provisions)
- Tax computations
Requirements
- B.Com Degree
- SAIPA / SAICA Articles preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Computer skills: Excel; CaseWare/DraftWorx
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting frameworks
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (if applicable)
