About the Role
The Mpumalanga Conservation Manager position is a critical role within our organization, responsible for overseeing conservation management efforts in the province of Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be expected to provide strategic leadership and guidance on wildlife management, veld management, and ecological restoration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement conservation management plans and strategies
- Conduct research and data analysis to inform conservation decisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to engage communities and promote conservation efforts
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff members
- Manage and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders
- Monitor and report on conservation program progress
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field (PhD advantageous)
- 8 years experience in conservation management
- Strong knowledge of wildlife management, veld management, and ecological restoration
- Experience with research, data analysis, and conservation programmes
- Proficiency in MS Office and GIS (Earth Ranger advantageous)
