Job Description
A leading automotive security and monitoring solutions company is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with strong experience in B2B and B2G sales, preferably in complex regulated environments or multi country markets to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute Business Development Manager to drive growth across new lines by identifying potential customers, expanding into emerging EV security markets, and building strategic partnerships with OEMs, fleet operators, and government institutions. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business development strategies for vehicle security systems across ICE and EV platforms and Ignition Interlock Device (IID) solutions.
- Drive new revenue growth through OEMs, dealer networks, aftermarket channels, fleet operators, insurance-linked programmes, and court-mandated IID programmes.
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritise new local and international market opportunities, including lead market entry initiatives and partner onboarding.
- Build and manage strategic relationships with transport and road safety authorities, courts, probation services, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and manage relationships with vehicle importers, dealer groups, fleet operators, and international distribution partners while negotiating commercial agreements and pricing structures.
- Work closely with engineering, R&D, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet local and international legislative requirements and align with vehicle architectures.
- Build and manage a structured sales pipeline, prepare forecasts and budgets, and provide regular performance and strategic reports to senior management.
Requirements:
- Strong B2B and B2G business development experience.
- Proven success in complex, regulated, or multi-country sales environments.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and senior stakeholder management skills.
- Solid understanding of vehicle security systems, including immobilisers, tracking, CAN and LIN bus security, and telematics.
- Solid understanding of Ignition Interlock Devices and alcohol monitoring solutions.
- Ability to operate effectively in regulatory, certification, and compliance-driven markets.
- Knowledge of EV platforms and emerging vehicle security risks is considered advantageous.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven with a strategic thinker mindset and strong execution capability.
- Comfortable operating independently and across international markets.
- Culturally aware, adaptable, and professional in diverse environments.
